I won’t bore you with thousands of words of legalese that nobody reads. Just a few important points:
- Please don’t link to images and steal my bandwidth. That’s just rude. If it’s not a copyrighted image, then just copy it to your own site. If it is owned by me, then ask permission. If it’s owned by someone else, ask their permission or at least give attribution.
- Due to spammers, I’ve been given no choice but to require a login. If you hate maintaining countless userids and passwords like I do, then I recommend using the excellent 1Password for Mac OS X. I don’t know of a Windows or Linux equivalent.
- Real names only please. Pretend you’re meeting with an Apple representative for you to voice your comments. You wouldn’t use a pseudonym then so please don’t use it here.
- Anything you post here is your responsibility. If you can’t take responsibilty for what you post, don’t post it.
- The main purpose of this site is to provide constructive feedback to Apple Inc. and possibly other vendors associated with Apple products. Phrase your comments as if you are talking to the person responsible for the area you’re commenting on face to face. Think of them as your friend, not your enemy. Comments are moderated to ensure that they are constructive and add value to the discussion. Personal attacks or mindless rants about Apple, other commenters, or myself will not get posted.
- Don’t post content for which you do not own the copyright.
- Don’t post anything illegal or obviously offensive.
- I reserve the right to be the sole arbiter of what content is posted or removed or that violates any of the above terms. I’ll be reasonable if you’ll be reasonable.
- While I strive to ensure the accuracy of the content I post, I’m only human and will no doubt make mistakes. Please constructively inform me of the error of my ways and I will make the appropriate correction. If there is a dispute as to the accuracy of the content, my judgement will determine the final disposition.
- I’m a great believer in the doctrine of fair use. Feel free to quote and discuss this content on other sites as long as you provide attribution, preferably in the form of a link to this content.
- Since everyone has different sensibilities and sensitivities, I can’t guarantee that you won’t see something that offends you. If it does, you agree that your only recourse is to just not revisit the site.
I’ll probably have to update these terms over time, but I’ll strive to keep them readable and common sense.
